About Us
The Morgan State University Knowledge Integration Management Center of Excellence (KIMCOE) was established as an Army Center Of Excellence in 2003.  It is a Government-university collaborative organization designed to promote interdisciplinary knowledge fusion innovations for 21st century defense challenges.

KIMCOE leverages an extensive community of experts in academia, industry, and the military to lead, consolidate, and coordinate knowledge fusion research and education required for defense applications.  It is a primary Army resource for university-based research and education in fusion initiatives that address complex security challenges such as tactical battlefield operations, strategic decision support, and homeland defense.

Providing defense and delivering security in a dangerous world has become increasingly complex in the age of Network Centric Warfare.  The concept of an integrative approach that balances soft power and hard power has emerged.  Knowledge fusion examines knowledge-based solutions for dealing effectively with the multifaceted problems we face.  KIMCOE emphasizes holistic knowledge-based solutions that utilize fundamental advances from multiple areas of science, achieved through partnerships and intellectual networking.
